I'm Brenna. It's pronounced Bren-ah. I'm not sure why, but a lot of people have a hard time with pronouncing my name. I get a lot of Breanna's, Brenda's, Breena's, and every once in a while, I get a Breenda. Really, it's not that hard. Bren-na. Anyway, now you know how to pronounce it. :)

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to cook. In my letters to Santa I asked for a Kitchen Aid when my friends were asking for Barbie dolls. My mom used to call me "Mini Martha" after Martha Stewart. At the time, I was embarrassed, but now looking back, it was a compliment. Food is definitely a passion of mine. Another passion of mine is photography. I take all the photos that you see on this blog. I love the thought process and focus that precedes every click of the camera. Every photo is a creation.


The reasoning behind the name "Brenana Bread" is credited to my best friend Nichole. We studied overseas in Melbourne, Australia together in 2008. Whenever I missed home I would make banana bread from my Grandma Mamie's special recipe. I tell my Grandma that her banana bread is world famous. I still have friends who email me for the recipe. It became such a popular snack that Nichole lovingly started calling it Brenana Bread. I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty catchy!

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health Education and a minor in Nutrition. Health and well-being are a very large part of my life. I became a vegetarian at the beginning of my senior year in high school, so a lot of the recipes you will see on this blog will be vegetarian. I also have an unstoppable sweet tooth ... so many of the recipes will probably be on the sweeter side. I hope you enjoy them all!
